Natural Park
Manuel and Josefina are the parents of Manuel Giménez, General Director, José Giménez, Director of Logistics, and Javier Giménez, Director of Production, the three brothers who lead the family business of organic farming Naturcharc. Enjoying a privileged environment such as the Cabo de Gata - Níjar Natural Park, the Giménez family has been living surrounded by agriculture for decades. First the grandparents, then Manuel senior and Josefina, and now the three brothers. The third generation of organic farmers who have managed to grow an agricultural project that employs almost 200 families, and that, inspired by tradition, is committed to a sustainable production model based on innovation. The family home of Manuel and Josefina, their “Cortijo”, as they call it, is located today where it all started. In the heart of the Naturcharc facilities, in Campohermoso, in the municipality of Níjar, Almería.
The story of an agricultural family
that depends on renewed tradition
Manuel, the head of this family, already lives the agricultural lifestyle, and learned the cultivation techniques from his father. Back then they planted onions, beans, watermelons and melons in open air fields. At that time he would water the ground himself. Water was abundant, unlike today. Now it is scarce and the water system is automated with computers. He went with his father to the auctions, to market the small production they had, to sustain the family. Thanks to the teachings from their father, Manuel Junior, José and Javier, have made Naturcharc organic products present in almost a dozen European countries.
What Manuel and his father had first started, and then he and his wife Josefina have developed, their children have turned it into the great organic company that it is now.
