Our composting plant:

Everything that is born from the Earth returns to the Earth

The commitment to produce our own compost in Naturcharc has been transversal. The technical, production and commercial team has been trained for more than two years, with scientists specialized in composting. The result of this formation was the project that today is a reality: our own Organic Composting Plant, which already produces enough compost to feed the soil of our farms - both in the open air fields, and in the greenhouses.

We make our own ecological compost with the vegetable remains of our own crops, to nourish the soil of our farms. In this way we bet on an even more sustainable agricultural model, since everything that is born from the Earth returns to the Earth.

The commitment to produce our own compost is demonstrated in the type of materials we use on our crops, and relying on organic compostable products, as in the bundling cord, to favor the process.

Organic Compost

A natural food

for the soil

Check out how we develop our own organic compost. Plant remnants are added to a base of hay, which will form the bulk of the compost. To this base the organic by-products of Naturcharc products are incorporatedNaturcharc, and these will be covered by pre-production compost, freshly trimmed leaves and stems and clay soil. Once everything is well stacked it is time to 'water' the compost to add the moisture that will make this initial mixture a fertile product.

When the mixture is well stacked and wet it will be time to churn all this compost with machinery especially designed for this purpose. Thus the microorganisms of the pre-produced compost, the straw base and the vegetable remains, will exchange their properties to achieve a natural compost of the highest quality. When added to our soils, our organic compost upgrades them to a superior quality.

During the following weeks the control should be continuous, taking into account aspects such as humidity, temperature and the amounts of carbon dioxide contained in the stack. When any of these variables exceeds our parameters, it will be necessary to take measures such as adding more moisture or churning the stack again.

The process, although natural, requires the latest technology for optimal organic compost production for our soils. With our organic compost from Naturcharc we have achieved becoming pioneers in Andalusia, collaborating with the development of organic agriculture both inAlmeria and throughout the agricultural sector.

The months of training and work in the field have borne fruit, and today inNaturcharcwe already take advantage of the beneficial properties that organic compost has for our soils, and therefore for our organic crops.

COCO Compost Cooperation

an international alliance

The Almeria organic farming company, Naturcharc, is part of an international alliance to promote the creation of organic composting plants, with the German company, Naturkost Schramm and the Austrian company U.R.S. Landmanagement. As a result of this strategic alliance, the COCO brand, Compost Cooperation, was born with the aim of promoting the implementation of this resource in the organic vegetable and fruit production sector.

After two years of research, and starting up its own organic composting plant, Naturcharc seals this agreement to spread the culture of self-supply of organic compost throughout Europe.. “It is about closing the integral cycle of organic production, managing to contribute and return to the ground all the organic matter that is generated after the harvest,” as Naturcharc's General Director, Manuel Giménez, has emphasized on numerous occasions.

Since its inauguration, in September 2016, the Naturcharc ecological composting plant has been visited by an endless number of agents from the sector interested in knowing this agricultural innovation.
