Global Recycling Day reminds us of the importance of reusing resources through composting

In organic farming, respect for the environment is a commitment that extends to all its different aspects. The aim is to ensure that the footprint of human activities on nature is as small as possible. Therefore, it is important to manage resources and avoid wasting raw materials. At Naturcharc, this philosophy of work has not stopped growing and consolidating since day one. That is why this month we celebrate Global Recycling Day on May 17th. It is an opportunity to remind us of the importance of reusing our resources.

This celebration, which originated at UNESCO, already has years of history behind it. The aim is to raise public awareness of the excess waste generated every day in cities. Tons of rubbish can have a second life thanks to recycling, avoiding the waste of materials and making a more sustainable economy possible. Our planet’s resources are not unlimited. Society as a whole must contribute to building a more efficient world, in which waste can be reused.

In our case, this commitment is clearly reflected in our management of the packaging material for our organic fruit and vegetables. We manage to efficiently recycle all the material we use throughout our production cycle. But above all it is reflected in our commitment to organic compost. https://naturcharc.com/el-compost-bio-de-naturcharc-ya-alimenta-el-suelo-de-todas-sus-fincas/ This proves our commitment to the circular economy and waste reduction.

What comes from the earth returns to the earth

Our motto has always been that what comes from the earth returns to the earth. A phrase that sums up our company’s commitment to protecting nature. Returning the vegetable scraps from our farms to the composting plant allows us to close the cycle and recover the richness of the soil in a 100% natural and environmentally friendly way. Composting is carried out in our own facilities in which we have used the know-how of our experts to achieve an ideal mixture that uses only straw, soil and plant remains to achieve a rich and balanced soil nutrition.

In this way, we reuse resources that would otherwise have been discarded. These plant remains come from the scraps that inevitably accompany each harvest. The remains of branches, stems and leaves, but also those leftover vegetables that are not in an optimal state and therefore are not suitable for the market. Thanks to the composting plant, the resources used to produce these plants and are essential for generating a new harvest are returned to the soil.

The work in our composting plant already allows us to ‘feed’ all our fields, which makes us a self-sufficient farm. In this way, Naturcharc is a reference point in ecological and sustainable agriculture in the province of Almeria. Our commitment is to continue working to offer our customers and friends the best of the land: a fruit and vegetable production that offers the best quality in taste and aroma.
